"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." ~ 1 Peter 3:15-16
24 Oct Wednesday Afternoon

It happened slightly after lunch hour, and my mum told me that God had given her a dream. And in that dream, she saw a man holding a sword and going around asking the folks (young and old) before her to read a passage from the Scripture. And as that man drew nearer to her, she still could not find the passage that she was supposed to read. In fact, the Bible was worn out due to her searching. As the man came to her, she suddenly realised that she was supposed to read from 1 Peter 5, and she woke up immediately as she was too nervous.

In her own words, God spoke to her through the passage and commanded her to look after God's flocks. She is to serve with a right heart and attitude, not serving out of compulsion but of love, and in accordance to God's will. She couldn't help but link back to the discussion we had on church issues that very Monday night.

My wife thinks that God has called my mum out of the institutional church and her current cell group to plant house churches, because the passage is really about the heart of God's servant and only house churches emphasize a lot on the heart issues and allow room for that to manifest in its practices. Methinks that God has given her more light on this issue and is building up her conviction. It's a time of preparation for her.

And for the first time in the cell group meeting that evening, my mum seemed to have really gotten the spirit of a participatory meeting, and is zealous to encourage the fellow brethren to share and contribute during the meeting. Amazingly, everyone did contribute something that night, even for those who have never shared anything in the past. Undoubtedly, this serves as the sign of confirmation for her dream.

I believe with this common understanding now, we would be able to better co-work in unleashing the potential of the priesthood of the people attending the cell group. May God lead His people.
