"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." ~ 1 Peter 3:15-16
23 Oct Tuesday Evening

Went to meet my hair stylist and two other sisters (whom we fellowship with in the east), together with my wife. I praise God for this opportunity to share slightly more about house churches being the biblical model for God's eternal purpose.

It come somewhat as a surprise to hear one of the sisters, remarked how confusing it is to her in regards to church issues because she subconsciously knows that the modern church structure is contradicting the biblical principles stated in the Scripture. The surprise heightened when this came not from a young believer.

So is our modern church practices stumbling us? I believe the answer is a shouting 'Yes'! We have sacrificed a lot of spiritual truth and practices to come this far, and we have ultimately displaced God's word only to be replaced with fallen man's traditions and ambitions.

That evening, we also managed to discuss about whether the teaching of spiritual covering of a pastor/church/denomination is biblical. It is not. And I am seriously thankful for my hair stylist who was from the charismatic background to have the discerning mind to reject this teaching of pagan roots. Clothed in a spiritual term, it only clouded and obstructed one from understanding one's true position in Christ.

What was encouraging was the prophecy that the sister spoke that evening. That God is restoring His church through the group in the east, just like the day of the pentecostal with the arrival of the fire from above, and then spreading wildly to the end of the earth! Amen.
