"Some two thousand years ago, a thief without a name from nowhere was crucified on a cross for his sinister deeds. Another innocent man was later nailed on the cross besides him, and had a signboard above that says, "King of Jews". This blameless man later turned to the thief and told him he will be with him in paradise that day, because the thief believes in him. Now that you have read this, Jesus still extends His grace to you today, to be with Him for eternity. It doesn't matter if you didn't tell anyone about the good news, because Jesus will die for you on that cross even if you are the only one on earth. So repent, give thanks and praise unto God!"
I wrote the above in reply to a cousin of my mine, who smsed me a long chained curse kind of message. The sentences are phrased in such a way to counter the spirit of the message. (I did not want to post the sms as I think it is unedifying) Though it was apparently meant to be a harmless joke, I could not but be surprised how the younger generation, especially the unbelieving ones are exposed to the rubbish and violence of this world. May God have mercy on us.
